Spotlight on……Anne Lise Frøkedal

Anne Lise Frøkedal is a nordic folk pop singer-somgwriter hailing from Etne in Norway. Born. 19th July 1981.

My introduction to Frøkedal (as she is known for short on her solo projects) came in the form of the song ‘The Man Who Isn’t There’ from her debut solo album Hold On Dreamer released in 2016. I loved the arrangement of the music on this track, its quite minimalist but melodious, providing a lush soundscape over which Frøkedal’s vocals could paint a picture. It’s also the song that provides the lyric that gives the album its title.

Anne Lise Frøkedal had been around for a while before this album though. She was a vocalist in both Harrys Gym (2006-2013), and I Was A King (2006-present).
